Movement is a Gift: Embracing Exercise at Any Size.
I’ve always really liked exercise. For me, it’s not just about working out—it’s about feeling strong, energized, and connected to my body. But I completely understand that not everyone feels the same way. Exercise can sometimes seem like a chore or a punishment, and I definitely don’t want to come across as preachy or holier-than-thou. Trust me, I know the journey is different for everyone.
To give you some context, I’m 5’9 and currently weigh 245 pounds. I share that because I think it’s important to break the stereotype that only certain body types are “fit” or enjoy exercise. Loving movement doesn’t require fitting into society’s narrow standards.
I’ve found that moving my body, whether it’s through a brisk walk, yoga, or a good dance session, does wonders for my mental and physical health. It’s not about perfection or a specific number on the scale—it’s about showing up for myself in whatever way feels right on that day.
If you’ve struggled with exercise or simply don’t enjoy it, I totally get it. But I encourage you to find a type of movement that feels good for you, without pressure or guilt. Whether it’s stretching, dancing around the living room, or going for a peaceful walk—movement is for everybody, and every BODY.
